When Should You
Consider Dental Implants in Richmond?
If you are missing one tooth or more, we generally recommend exploring dental implants. Why? If the missing space is not filled, the teeth surrounding the space often drift, and the opposing teeth in the other arch will erupt further into the oral cavity. Over time, this can change your bite, and can result in bone erosion, or even changes in speech.
To determine if implants are right for you, our dentists will thoroughly examine your teeth and gums and evaluate bone density and quantity. Are you a dental implant candidate? Book a free consultation (excluding x-rays) with us to find out.

The Dental Implant Process
How our Dental Implants Work
Implants are designed to replace the root of a missing tooth and can be used to support crowns, bridges, or dentures. The root-form implant is the most common type and basically consists of three main components:
Implant Screw – Surgically placed in the bone, fuses during the healing process.
Abutment – Attaches to the top of the implant screw and is the base for a crown, bridge, or denture.
Crown – Manufactured tooth that fits on top of the abutment.

Benefits of Dental
Implant Treatment
Missing teeth, at any age, can be uncomfortable and cause self-esteem issues. From a dental perspective, it also leads to a number of oral and other general health issues. Dental implants are a permanent way of replacing a missing tooth with an artificial one. They offer a design that functions just like a natural tooth. With dental implants, you can improve your jawbone structure and appearance.
